Patty Underwood (she/her/hers) received her MSW in 2007 from Boston University School of Social Work. She has a long history of working in community mental health in various clinical roles and settings, including adolescent day treatment, middle and high school outreach, and outpatient treatment for adults. She has a certification in group work and has facilitated a variety of groups including, DBT Skills, Relationship, Coping with Anxiety and Depression, and Hoarding Treatment and Maintenance. Since 2007, Patty has worked with the BU Hoarding Project, developing and testing group treatment interventions for hoarding disorder. She is experienced in working with clients who present with hoarding disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder. Patty is trained in CBT, DBT, and EMDR treatment models.
Patty is an adjunct faculty member at Boston University School of Social work where she teaches on campus and online. Some of the courses that she teaches are: Ethics and Social Work, Clinical Practice with Individuals, Clinical Practice with Groups, and Human Behavior in the Social Environment.
Patty currently has a private practice in Massachusetts and offers group and individual treatment via teletherapy.
